30RD: 360 Price Drop & UK Age Ratings
30RD: 360 Price Drop & UK Age Ratings
Posted by SmellyMoss on Aug 27th 2009 11:16
It's official: the 360 will only drop you back 200 quid now for the Elite edition. Microsoft, responding to Sony's announcement of the PS3 Slim, will be offering the new price as of August 28th in the UK.
Sony has announced that they will not be changing their plans for the PS3 Slim and plan to stick with a September 1st launch. The PS3 Slim will retail for £250 with Sony choosing to lose money on each console sold.
EA have big plans for the Need for Speed franchise and are confident that the brand will rebound after disappointing sales in 2008. Shift hits stores on September 18th.
Age ratings in the UK are currently not legally enforceable. The government has failed to notify the European Commission of the existence of the Video Recordings Act in 1984 which means that shops who sell inappropriate content to youth cannot be prosecuted. However, retailers plan to remain responsible with HMV announcing, "We are committed to responsible selling, and will continue to merchandise games in line with trading standards and Industry best practise."
Finally, Modern Warfare 2 is to have duel wielding in the game. Wicked stuff.
