Transactions: NWA Sign With TLR & YoYo Make Changes
Posted by SmellyMoss on Jun 16th 2009 11:33
As always, tons happening in eSports over the past two weeks. Here are the top stories:
Team Celsus have brought in Lucas "Lukz" Berens to fill in the vacated spot on their CoD4 roster left by the departure of Michael "riddle" Prijs. Celsus, led by Brit Robbie Heaton, will be competing in the UKeSA Grand Finals this weekend.
The Last Resort have made a return to Call of Duty 4 after picking up Never Walk Alone. NWA were one of the favourites to win the ButtonBashers "Bash the Summer Away" tournament which was eventually won by 4 and half Men. TLR will be sending their newest additions to OOF, The Reality and Frag-O-Matic 11.1.
TLR have dropped their CSS line-up only three weeks after signing them. Neither side has made an official statement on the transaction.
Team YoYoTech have signed on brand new Gears of War 2 and Halo 3 teams. Renowned GoW player and coach, Solidus, has signed ImmenSe to play GoW under the YYT banner. After recently releasing two members of their Halo 3 roster, YYT have picked up Cult and Krucial. Former YYT player, Pyronox, is glad to be back with team and said, "We are all very happy to be a part of such a prestigious organisation and hope to add to the growing list of achievements that YoYoTech has. Our team is quite new but we hope to practice a lot in these next upcoming months (both online and at 2 practice LAN’s) so that we can do well at i37 and future events."
H2K have released their Call of Duty 4 360 squad after the team failed to communicate with organisation. The former captain of the H2K side, Jolly, says the squad will remain together and are looking for a new org.
Team Infused have added a Left4Dead squad to their growing roster. The French and British line-up will compete at the next i-Series and in various online events. Infused player, Will "wizinium" Hunter said, "I am really pleased to be joining infused as their left 4 dead team. We have been playing together for a while now and bringing in some good results and so the management decided it was time to bring us into infused. We have the potential so achieve alot in whats left of left 4 dead before left 4 dead 2 comes out, which we will be ready to hit hard. We enjoy each others company and have fun playing together and so the motivation will be there to succeed. I would like to thank infused for this chance and everyone who has supported us."
MLG have posted the rebroadcasts of their recently held Columbus, Ohio event. Str8 Rippin won the Championship final over Triggers Down.
Finally, ESL Pro Series is in London on Thursday night with Team Dignitas taking on Team YoYoTech in CoD4 and TLR (?) taking on YYT in CSS. That action gets underway at 19:00 BST at London City Uni near Angel.
