CSS Open Ladder Now Live

First off, I want to thank all the users that have waited patiently and also those that have been shouting from the rooftops about the CSS Ladder situation. As admins we're only here to try and make getting and playing games smooth for all the users on Enemy Down.
We have been presented with a choice. Currently Open Challenges do not work on ladders, we can either keep the ladders shut down until they are complete or we can launch with direct challenges only.
We have no ETA on Open Challenges being completed and as such we've decided to launch with only direct challenges and we're going to do our best to create forum posts for people to post that they want games on certain days and then others can directly challenge on that time.
ALL TEAMS WILL HAVE TO SIGN UP TO THE LADDER AND WILL BE ENTERED WITH 1000 POINTS. THIS IS THE EASIEST WAY FOR US TO RESET POINTS AND KEEP ONLY THE ACTIVE TEAMS.
The situation isn't ideal and as admins we're trying to make the best of a bad situation. As users I hope we can all accept the situation for what it is (shitty) and give the people that organise games for their teams a break if things don't go so smoothly while we're without open challenges.
It will require a bit more legwork for teams to organise games but I hope people can still challenge teams they've built up relationships with over the years so that we can all get games and have a laugh playing them.
On a more technical note the ladders on .co.uk used an altered version of the ELO system. On this site we now have completely ELO. For anybody that cares you can read up about ELO here. For anybody that understands it you might want to know that we've set the K-Factor to 30 to begin with. If you have the interest please feel free to post on the forums about pros/cons of 30 as a factor and what other number you suggest.
Any problems please post them and we'll do our best to help with the knowledge we have.
