Over the past six months the staff here at ED have slowly been grinding away at improving enemydown.eu to a point where we are happy enough to start the painful process of shutting down enemydown.co.uk forever. Well, it is with great sadness that I bring the news that this day is finally approaching. As of today the forums of enemydown.co.uk will become the forums to enemydown.eu - don't worry, all of the classic posts will still exist such as Edit Your War Across the Cliff and Hot or Not will still be on there. In fact, they're the very same forums but re-branded.
We know that many of you have been avoiding the closure of .co.uk for awhile now and we understand that these times will be tough. However, the old ED was obviously never designed to handle the amount of traffic that ED deals with now and it was no longer viable to host 200,000 users on the old site. As the man who gave Indiana Jones his fedora in The Last Crusade said, "you lost today kid, but it doesn't mean you have to like it."
Features of the site, why the change?
Why move over to the new ED? Quite simply the new site is faster, more secure, and less open to hacking and DOS attacks.
We're also responding to the community by taking any requests for new functionality on board and making vast improvements to the site on a weekly basis. Something the old site doesn't allow us to do.
What do you need to do?
Not much. ED, XLEAGUE, and Devotii profiles will all work on the new ED and most clans and squads will have been successfully ported over. However, we are asking for players to check that their clans and squads are intact and have survived the migration from .co.uk to .eu - if you notice they have become separated or haven't survived completely, please contact support@enemydown.co.uk immediately. We have tried everything to ensure that clans and squads have remained intact during the migration.
With this news I offer solace that a man much wiser than myself predicted the closure of ED back in the 60's. His name was Robert Allen Zimmerman but most people know him as Bob Dylan.
Come gather 'round people
Wherever you roam
And admit that the waters
Around you have grown
And accept it that soon
You'll be drenched to the bone.
If your time to you
Is worth savin'
Then you better start swimmin'
Or you'll sink like a stone
For the times they are a-changin'.
Update: I almost forgot to mention... enemydown.co.uk closes on Thursday at 4pm!

Just fix the "we're sorry, something went wrong" error when you try to accept a game on the L4D ladder and put up an open challenge system and we're sorted :D

OK we got used to the side adverts which look mighty ugly btw but okay it looks like you dont care, but the giant clickable blue div that you have put your whole site on top of? I mean seriously, you are linking what appears to be blank space to another page to sort of force accidental clicks on your website to register as a hit for your adverts?
Thats not very good.
Just click the empty dark blue space below this post if you think Im making it up.

i believe that is a feature we have talked about re adding when we are back to one site, it was removed when we started working on this site as to not cause DB issues.

Ah the wise words of Bobby D. Zimmerman (I don't believe in Zimmerman! as said John Lennon) used to console those worry filled souls during times of change, nice working in of one of our musical key stones there Mr. Bembenek
