The PS3 has a new firmware update. Version 2.76 went live on Thursday and features only minor changes.
Blizzard has taken over Nintendo as the most successful developer in 2009 according to the Develop 100 list by Issuu. WotLK has taken Blizzard from 46th to 1st place! Other developers to make the top 5 include Rockstar North, EA Canada and Capcom. Take a look at the full list over at Develop 100.
More details on Modern Warfare 2 have been leaked. The game will feature a longer solo campaign, stealth tactics but no campaign co-op. However, there will special co-op missions. You can take a look at the first TV ad for the game here. In related news, Treyarch have already started to develop Call of Duty 7. How will this impact competitive Call of Duty?
Prisoners in the UK could be using games consoles to organise crime. Serious Organised Crime Agency Director, Billy 'Capone' Hughes*, spoke at launch event for a new report detailing prisoner communications and said, "We know that one of the issues is that if you are locked up, how do you communicate with others? And we have been highlighting the fact it is not always with mobile telephones." Looks like someone is getting grounded and having their console taken away.
Motorstorm: Pacific Rift is getting a makeover with eight free livery packs. This is the first DLC for the title and includes Lunar-Tec, Patriot, Mohawk, Voodoo, Atlas, Jester, Wombat and Monarch themed packs. The packs will be released over the next two months with a new one every week.
Take Two is taking 3D Realms to court over the studios failure to deliver Duke Nukem Forever. Take Two paid 12 million dollars for the rights to Forever in 2000 and renewed the rights again in 2007. More on the case over at CVG.
