Team CoolerMaster Release CSS Squad (CSS)
The rumours are true, TCM have released their CSS side. TCM Manager, Walkau, announced on the TCM website, "The team has had a mixed time whilst involved with us, with good performances shadowed by several lineup changes, we felt it was time to change direction and we will therefore cease operations with the current lineup. This is not the last you will hear from Team-Coolermaster regarding the Counter Strike: Source scene, we will be making an announcement within the next two weeks regarding our future plans in CSS!"
Crack go Console (Halo 3)
We've seen several UK MGO's venture into the world of console competitive gaming over the past few weeks and you can now add Crack Clan to that list. CC have picked up a Halo 3 squad consisting of 2 former Infused players (MVP and ReactioN) and 2 former Imperial players (Buk 20 and Buk 57). MVP and ReactioN recently walked away from Infused after seeing their two other teammates go separate ways after winning i36. Still searching for that elusive championship, the Buk twins are no stranger to event finals either - they've just never managed to win one. Hopefully, this will change with the new CC line-up.
Several MGO's were interested in the squad once news broke that they were available. MVP is pleased with the signing and said, “We’re all really looking forward to representing cc// at Halo 3 events across Europe for the rest of the year. After picking up the twins, our team can practice a lot more and coming straight off our first big win at the i36 Halo 3 4v4 event, our team couldn’t be more confident. We hope we can do the team proud throughout the rest of the season.” Happy 11th birthday to Crack!
Fragmasters Toxic sign FrankstaH (CSS)
The experiment that was Fragmasters Toxic Jr. Edition has come to an end as the organisation has made several changes. Taking over for Bowzar, who will now be the sixth man, is Dignitas fill-in and former Fragmaster, FrankstaH.
FM Toxic mainstay, Kritikal, knew changes had to be made and the opportunity to bring back FrankstaH seemed like a good starting point. He said, "The problems we encountered were apparent at the lan79 event and the week after lan79, that no one was happy within the team and changes needed to be made. So with no more time wasted, we announce Frank "FrankstaH" Rini, back into the team. With his brief spell in dignitas, where he seemed to be unhappy, hes decided to come back with the attitude to push this team, and to push to bigger and better places."
WotR add Albert (TF2)
Weapons of the Rebellion have signed on former Nervous Gamers' medic, Albert. The move comes in response to the Weapons' medic, Torden, taking one month of leave. Team captain, Nos, is looking to fill the open medic roll with a number of options but Albert looks to be the key replacement in the meantime.

MoD win Fnatic Game Idol, join MGO (CSS)
I know this news is a little dated but I wanted to give it some time to settle down. Fnatic's Game Idol winners MoD have been officially revealed as fnaticMSI's Counter-Strike: Source squad. MoD will now be under contract with fnatic for the next six months plus they each receive a sweet MSI GX laptop for their troubles (on loan for the duration of the contract). The new line-up plans to attend The eXperience and Outpost on Fire 3.
Now, on to my opinions of the Game Idol! This tournament was a joke. Basically, MoD won the event fair and square but before they were signed they had to play Eindbazen, the former fnatic CSS team. The announcement of the match-up on the fnatic website said, "When the ex-LLL team approached us several weeks ago, we thought it would only be fair to do a team versus team match between the winner of Game Idol and our own old team, seeing the history we have with them. Unfortunately they weren't in time to enter the tournament themselves."
Only fair?! Only fair would have been to give MoD what was rightfully theirs, not make them play a team you felt sorry for or more worthy. Not to worry though as MoD proved their worth by beating Eindbazen. Now allegations of cheating against MoD have surfaced and several community members are crying foul.
IF Eindbazen had been in this tournament from the start I would have had zero problem with this match, even if they were knocked out before the final. However, letting a team who wasn't even in the competition play a second final against the winners instantly made Game Idol a complete waste of time for every team that entered.
CSS player Skappa left an intriguing comment in the fnatic comments section and said, "If you ask me, this whole match was just a showmatch. You guys (fnatic) were convinced Eindbazen would take the win, but now you have positioned yourself in a corner where you cant get out. You have to take these guys in, or else this publicity stunt is going to turn itself on you."
Game Idol competitions are always terrible and they never turn out for the host team. In fact, most teams and companies are fortunate enough to realise this while the event is still in it's planning stages thus most never see the light of day much to our relief. Allegations of cheating and unreliable players will always be the curse of tournaments like this, something that even fnatic could not avoid - not that they helped themselves. Good luck to MoD and fnatic. I know I'm not the only one looking forward to their first major LAN appearance.
