The United Kingdom eSports Association (UKeSA) today confirmed that the Pro Gamer Training Academy (PGTA) will launch via a forum on enemydown.eu. PGTA will bring professional, quality training to the video games community in a range of console and PC games. Training will be available on PGTA's launch titles from 29th May 2009.
PGTA has been set up by Kathy “Snuggles” Zablotzky, who played Dead or Alive 4 for the Championship Gaming Series London Mint team in 2007 and has been playing video games for many years. Kathy's work background is in training and she is bringing her expertise in this area to video gaming.
The PGTA forum is now live to answer any questions and to provide gamers with information about the titles that will be taught and the trainers who will provide the training.
In an effort to encourage female gamers to play competitively, PGTA will offer a trophy to the highest scoring all female CSS team at Game On! London on 20th/21st July at Olympia in London.
PGTA is currently recruiting trainers. If you would like to be assessed as a candidate contact PGTA via the forum.

what a sceptical bunch of comments!
Neon Lynx said: (May 07 2009 at 21:06:44 BST)
about that previous comment i posted - i did so before i'd visited the forums...
if you wanna see sceptical then chip over there and take a look.
also, i'm glad i checked the forums out cos i thought this was going to be decent but on thinking about it for a second or so i realised it was not going to be good.
unless it promotes more tourneys in which case it'll have served some purpose.
can't see community support taking it that far though...
Bub said: (May 07 2009 at 21:15:47 BST)
The problem I see is it's charging money for something that goes against why a 'community' exists in the first place.
I would be fully behind it if they were setting up a free service that the community as a whole could contribute to.
The reason for doing it has been said to be "because people are too embarrassed to ask for help for fear of being mocked". Then a better option would be to create something that creates an environment where knowledge passing could be done in a good way.
As soon as you stick a £££ tag on it you lose credibility with most communities.

Training with the forum isnt that good. There is a much better site out there for open training online from the likes of Pro Gamers in CGS and MLG. Checkout http://www.ProGamerTraining.com
