Plenty going on with the NFL at the moment. John Madden has announced that he is retiring from the commentators booth and a group of former NFL players are going to sue EA and Madden for unpaid royalties from previous titles. Retired NFL players won $28 million last fall when they sued the NFLPA for screwing them out of royalties, now the players feel the need to go after the publisher. GamePolitics has the story.
Details of the Championship DLC for Street Fighter IV have been made available. The free release comes out on April 24th and will feature a balanced tournament mode with replay features. The mode will allow players to review their opponents exact input commands including button and joystick motions. Will this make SF IV less competitive? Also, props to Capcom for making this add-on free.
On a related note, the update also includes the launch of the Official SFIV Euro Tournament. The top prize is Aerox R 50cc Scooter from Yamaha.
Halo 3 was back on top of the XBox Live Most Played Games list last week with the release of the Mythic Map Pack. Last week also saw the launch of the first 4v4 Halo tournament on ED. Evasion walked away champs of the first ever No Strings Attached Halo 3 one night tournament (I made up the title and its one of my proudest accomplishments).
Finally, the founders of Pirate Bay have been locked up for a year and fined £3 million in damages for breaking copyright laws according to the BBC. The four men are going to refuse to pay the fine and will appeal. Does anyone NOT find this is just ridiculous. If so, enlighten us.

In what way are we meant to be finding the Pirate Bay thing ridiculous?
What they do is not illegal. They are simply a torrent hosting site. It's the uploaders responsibility to not upload illegal content and if they do it's their responsibility. The only reason Pirate Bay is being taken down is because; 1) Users don't necessarily use their real information for accounts and 2) It's easy to place the blame on a site for hosting and the usual excuse for blaming them is that "It's their responsibility to take off illegal content." well it isn't and I'm pretty sure that if you read their Terms & Conditions agreement it states that YOU (the uploader/downloader) is responsible for moving illegal files whether it be downloading or uploading.
OH YEAH!!!! MASSIVE FREAKIN' RANT!!!

Each country has their own copyright laws. This is why you find different content is each of the console's online stores (Xbox LIVE, PSN) and why you get a notice on YouTube that you can't view that video in your country.
Unfortunately in Sweden, they have a online Copyright Law, which makes it easier to prosecute individual file sharers who swap copyrighted material using P2P clients. So while it may not be illegal in some countries to host these torrent files with illegal content, it is deemed illegal in Sweden.
Either way, it should be the responsibility of the hosters to make sure that their content is clean of illegal material, with attempts to include features to flag such content for quick removal. I'll leave you with this question to you all: If 5 million people came and shat on the carpet of your house, would you chase those 5 million people to clean up their mess leaving your house to rot with poo poo or would you clean up your own house?

they wernt done for hosting it or for 'not taking it off' it was for hosting a site which aided people to break the law. and the sweedish law makes it possible for them to be jailed/fined for it
imo the pirate bay site is wrong and they should be locked up

If people actually used p2p apps and sites like PB to host legit content I would be fine with them but the fact is that they are not. People work extremely hard on the movies, shows and games that pirates STEAL and aiding them via a site like PB only hurts p2p sharing. YouTube controls what is displayed on their site with ease. Why couldn't PB?
