ALIENWARE Sponsor UKeSA Cups
ALIENWARE Sponsor UKeSA Cups
Posted by Waylander on Apr 11th 2009 13:53
9th April 2009 (London, UK) – The United Kingdom eSports Association (UKeSA), the governing body for competitive gaming in the UK, today confirmed the title sponsor of the UKeSA Season One Cups is Alienware, makers of high-performance notebooks and PC's.
Alienware is a leading manufacturer of state-of-the-art, high-performance desktop and notebook systems. Their reputation is unparalleled for building fast, powerful, innovative and award-winning computers that are of the highest standards.
“Alienware are synonymous with building reliable, high-performance PC's and notebooks, which makes them a natural sponsor for the UKeSA Season One Cups,” said Ray Mia, Chief Executive of the UKeSA. “These four tournaments are a chance for teams who are not involved in the Premiership to compete at a high level and for substantial prize funds. With £7,000 at stake, the Alienware Cups are a fantastic opportunity for smaller, lesser known teams to gain recognition and help develop their communities and teams.”
The Alienware Cups begin on April 9th, 2009 and feature over 700 of the UK's top semi-professional players in four leading game titles. The Season One Alienware Cups are:
- Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (PC)
- Counter-Strike: Source (PC)
- FIFA 09 (Xbox 360)
- Team Fortress 2 (PC)
The Alienware Cups will feature live LAN finals at GameOn! London, a consumer gaming exhibition taking place at the Olympia Exhibition Centre between 20th – 21st June, 2009. The event is expected to draw more than 25,000 games enthusiasts from all over the country.

As this UKeSA, I presume it's pay to play.
