Ninja Blade, slicing its way on to a screen near you soon!

Posted by Dekko on Feb 26th 2009 17:34

There are those of us out there who are rather big fans of the Tenchu series with those lurky ninja antics being motivation to flick on the PS2's power switch back in the day.

The next-gen update Tenchu Z on the 360 was a bit of a Marmite deal, you either love it or hate it but to buck the trend I remain undecided, it works but it doesn't fill me with ninjary goodness as the old PS2 Tenchu did.

Ah well, fret ye not for FromSoftware (makers of Tenchu and the Armored Core series) have announced that their forthcoming ninja epic Ninja Blade will have a release date of April 3rd!

The game is an Xbox 360 exclusive, sorry PS3 lovers.

Ninja Blade pits you as Ken Ogawa fighting a horde of infected Tokyo citizens with a range of super ninjitsu weapons and a team of skilled fighter buddies.

You may of seen the video (which is up for download on Marketplace now) where Ken jumps from a helicopter and 'surfs' down the side of a sky scrapper all blades swirling, taking out all manner of wee beasty.

Great stuff and it has that geek chic aspect and pure pick up & play joy which made Earth Defense Force a hit.

Ninjas, big weapons, deformed Japanese citizenry and a developer with a history of giving Europe a taste of Tokyo.

What more could a growing boy ask?

How about a demo up on Marketplace on March 9th? OK, done, now you can try before you buy.

So mark those dates in your Hello Kitty diary, pull on your all black ninja sneaking outfit and lob a throw star into the counter of Gamestation to claim your pre-ordered copy today!
