UKeSA Registration Extended
UKeSA Registration Extended
Posted by SmellyMoss on Feb 2nd 2009 14:41
2nd February 2009 (London, UK) – The United Kingdom eSports Association (UKeSA), the official governing body for competitive gaming in the UK, will be extending Open and Championship Division registrations until Friday, 13th February 2009.
“We’ve been delighted with the flood of 6,500 players from over 1,500 squads signing up to date.” said Ray Mia UKeSA Chief Executive today. “We do however understand that some elements of the community may take longer to organise than others, hence our decision to extend all the pre season deadlines for Season One by a week. We’d like to thank all the teams that have worked hard to hit the deadline already.”
The revised timeline is as follows:
Sunday 8th February ‘09 (2359 hrs):
- Squads counted towards the Premiership Division games.
- Championship Division sign-ups remain open until 13th February.
Tuesday 10th February ‘09:
- Premiership Division games types announced.
- £35,000 prize fund allocation across all games and Divisions (including Premiership Division retainer) confirmation.
Friday 13th February ‘09:
- Premiership Division Teams announced.
- All Season One League sign-ups closed.
Monday 16th February ‘09:
- Season One League matches start.
- Season One Cup sign-ups open.
Monday 23rd February ‘09:
- Sign-ups close for the Season One Cup events.
Monday 24th February ‘09:
- Community Council election starts.
Teams and players can register for the UKeSA Open and Championship Divisions on Enemy Down, the official host of the UKeSA in 2009.

Can you make it possible for the manager to pay all of the signup fees of his clan, so the players dont have to do it one by one

You can mate here is a page as an example http://www.enemydown.eu/clans/10529/squads/10530/tournaments/23

nice cool :D now we're sorted \o
KamiKaze PMS said: (Feb 02 2009 at 18:26:35 GMT)
need a 'pay for whole squad' option imo, having to do 14 people individually was a pain.

KamiKaze read above your own post
F2dk said: (Feb 02 2009 at 21:56:10 GMT)
So, TF2 has by far the most teams signed up and paid at the deadline (TF2 had about as many teams paid as all other games summed). And you're just gonna ignore that. That's logical.
KamiKaze PMS said: (Feb 02 2009 at 22:14:07 GMT)
err no Tom, read what i said more carefully.
SmellyMoss said: (Feb 03 2009 at 10:18:32 GMT)
F2dk, this was not a knock against the TF2 community and the UKeSA will be taking the amount of registered TF2 teams into consideration at the original deadline when making their count. If you have any questions, contact me on IRC.
GothiaL said: (Feb 03 2009 at 10:38:04 GMT)
f2dk shame that most of the tft teams arnt even uk =D
nvs.rage said: (Feb 03 2009 at 15:34:35 GMT)
of course they are not gothial, have you even checked?
GothiaL said: (Feb 03 2009 at 19:56:28 GMT)
ye i have this shud jus be called EUESA =D but teams are gonna be checked soon anyway for that uk manager thing so probs games like tft will lose some of there teams.
nvs.rage said: (Feb 03 2009 at 22:08:29 GMT)
I think the tf2 community is being severely under estimated by some. Still its all early days and supporting UKeSA is what counts.
Epsilon.Baldrick said: (Feb 04 2009 at 00:17:20 GMT)
Pretty sure all the TF2 teams qualify, after the effort they've put in it would be criminal to deny it a Premiership slot.
GothiaL said: (Feb 04 2009 at 09:48:35 GMT)
not much effort in jus grabbin any1 from uk 2 manage ur team jus so u can play in a uk league
Epsilon.Baldrick said: (Feb 04 2009 at 10:48:20 GMT)
I mean effort like having members from their community donate to let teams who can't afford to pay their own entry so they can get more teams, and to actually be organized enough to meet deadlines.
GothiaL said: (Feb 04 2009 at 10:58:40 GMT)
i just dont think its fair if tf2 gets prem and cs 1.6 dosent since cs 1.6 has far more UK teams in it rather then tf2 having more non-uk players in it. If 1.6 did wot the rest of the games have done and get non-uk teams then it would of been prem game easy.
GothiaL said: (Feb 04 2009 at 11:01:53 GMT)
and after looking through cod4 teams it seems that cod4 is jus about as bad as tf2. jus lol tbh =D
seppo said: (Feb 05 2009 at 00:58:50 GMT)
I dont think UKeSA's point ever was to be strictly "UK only" as theyve stated right from the start its ok for foreign teams with UK managers (with ip rights and all the shizzle) to play, so i really dont get this hate targeted towards non-uk teams, tbh i find this really similiar to for example finnish hockey league theres plenty of foreign people playing in teams but its still a finnish league to me because the matches are played here and the media on it is centered here, and thats similiar to the situation with UKeSA in my opinion. (ps. its time for cs 1.6 to wither and die imo :)
Kendle said: (Feb 05 2009 at 10:24:14 GMT)
Unfortunately UKeSA's requirement is not for teams to have UK Managers, it's for them to have UK *Owners* (and they probably should've used the word "owner" from the start, would've saved a lot of confusion). Most foreign teams have foreign owners, even if they have UK members and / or UK managers willing to represent them in UKeSA. What's more most top teams belong to multi-gaming organisations keen to protect their (foreign owned) "IP" as well, so ownership is non-negotiable.
It's a pity for my game, DOD:S, because there are lots of active, skilled, professionally run DOD:S teams, they're just not UK owned. It'll be interesting to see how the land lies when UKeSA have done their thing and weeded out the teams that are not UK owned. :)
Ryoga Hibiki said: (Feb 05 2009 at 14:09:00 GMT)
The only other way for these foreign teams with foreign owners to play in UKeSA is to register the team as a UK company. However, I don't know if this will impact on how they will be able to enter into their own countries eSports Association - which will eventually happen as Germany and a few other countries in the EU already have such organisations.
GothiaL said: (Feb 05 2009 at 16:27:25 GMT)
how is TCM Xman able to manage 5 different Tf2 teams? surely this is not allowed?
GothiaL said: (Feb 05 2009 at 16:29:31 GMT)
"Can a manager have multiple teams?
No. A manager can only manage 1 team. Remember that a team in UKeSA is a clan. A manager can have as many squads in as many games as they feel comfortable with."
hmm looks like Tf2 wont make prem then
pukz said: (Feb 07 2009 at 10:21:26 GMT)
TCM Xman is the manager of a lot more that 5 different teams they have cs squads aswell, and i'll have you know he is an excellent manager ;)
GothiaL said: (Feb 07 2009 at 12:53:45 GMT)
dosent matter how good of a manager, u can only manage 1 team
S0Slick said: (Feb 09 2009 at 09:50:43 GMT)
think its far more complicated then your "simple" understanding Gothial as it is Team Cooler Master.
GothiaL said: (Feb 09 2009 at 19:22:11 GMT)
S0Slick does the rules state that a manager can only manage 1 team? yes or no? it really is that simple, XMan is managing far more then 1 team and there is a few tf2 managers that are managing more then 1 team.
