UKeSA Premiership Qualifying
UKeSA Premiership Qualifying
Posted by SmellyMoss on Jan 29th 2009 19:01
The sign-ups continue for the UKeSA Championship and Open Divisions here on Enemy Down and close on February 6th.
Almost 1000 players and 200 teams have registered for the UKeSA Championship Division, the UKeSA's semi-pro eSports league. The top four titles in terms of sign-ups and completed payed teams will become UKeSA Premiership Divisions. The top six teams from each Championship that is selected for the Premiership will get the opportunity to play professionally in the UKeSA Premiership. Get your squads and teams registered now!
Premiership Team Requirements:
- Teams must have a British, UK based manager to participate unless the team is a UK Ltd Company.
- If a game title is selected for the Premiership, only squads that have paid their Championship registration fees in full will qualify for Premiership slots. Get paid up!
- There will be four Premiership game titles, with six teams each. As above, only fully registered Championship teams will qualify for a UKeSA ranking.
- UKeSA rankings will be determined by a team of title experts and a squad's past LAN and online performance - more information will be announced soon.
- Teams must be signed-up to Championships by midnight on Tuesday, February 2nd in order to qualify for the Premierships.
Championship & Open Divisions
- Only Championship titles that have over twelve teams will remain open and have a full Championship season. Get teams signed up now! That means you DoD: Source community!
- Championship and Open Division sign-ups close on February 6th. Play begins February 9th.
- Teams that have not been recognised as having UK Managers or are not UK based and have signed up to a Championship have been sent a message asking for management details. Teams have until February 2nd to reply or they will be removed. This process will be repeated again after February 2nd with February 6th cut-off date.
- Championship Division players will be charged a fee of £7.49 per player to participate. This can either be paid individually or by a Team Manager covering the cost of multiple players/squads. Championship & Premiership prize money details will be released soon.
Note to teams looking for players - there are several foreign teams looking for UK Managers in all game titles, if you're looking for a squad post in your team recruitment section on ED.
If you have any questions, check out the UKeSA forum hosted on Enemy Down.

"there are several foreign teams looking for UK Managers in all game titles"
Yes, but you don't just want them to have UK managers, you want them to have UK owners (the manager must own the "IP" of the team). There are many teams wanting UK managers, and many UK players offering to be managers, but no foreign team with existing "IP" worth a damn are going to hand it over to a UK plyaer just to compete in UKeSA.
Could you please clarify the position on managers, preferably by answering this thread on ED:-

That is true Kendle, and mostly the point - hence the UK Ltd Company rule. Basically, large clans must follow the rules to a T. Smaller ones should look for UK clans to join if they want to take part.

Tuesday is the 3rd, Monday is the 2nd therefore a little confusing on the signups closing. Also 6 teams for the premiership, the FAQ still notes 8 and this was originally announced and agreed, why the change to 6?

@ Protex^
Teams wishing to be considered for the Premiership need to be signed up and paid for in the Championship Division by 2359 hrs (midnight) on Tuesday 3rd Feb. Final details of the Premiership Teams for Season One will be announced on Friday 6th Feb. A final decision on the total number of teams in each of the Premiership Divisions has not been finalised and will be announced on Tuesday 3rd Feb.
