CES 09: Harmonix is the Walrus
CES 09: Harmonix is the Walrus

Harmonix has announced that it will not be producing a new Rock Band game in 2009. Instead, the developer plans to focus its efforts on the Beatles game that was announced in October. Harmonix is still planning to release new tracks for Rock Band and Rock Band 2. Company CEO Alex Rigopulos mentioned in a keynote at CES that the series has sold over 30 million tracks online.
The first Microsoft keynote not to be delivered by Billy Gates happened earlier today. MS CEO Steve Ballmer gave the address instead and announced... not a whole lot.
Long awaited RTS game Halo Wars finally is coming out on February 28th, the demo will be launched on February 5th. No date for Halo: ODST yet.
Kodu, a game creation... game? Yes, that's right, a game where you can design games. Microsoft was very clever and brought out a little girl to demonstrate it. As we all know, 40% of gamers are female.
Ballmer basically spent his time on stage spitting out facts about the 360 and other MS products:
- Since the NXE was released at the end of last year, downloads on Live have increased 60%.
- Since 2005, over 10 billion hours of "social interaction and gameplay," have occurred via the console.
- The average Live user's friends list has grown 33% since the arrival of NXE.
- Rock Band related: 60 million tracks downloaded for GH3, RB, RB2 and Lips on Live. Wow.
Word from Kotaku is that there is zero buzz surrounding the Sony Playstation keynote. That's all from Vegas for now.

Question: GH3 or RB?

Both!
Well, now that GH has come with the extra instruments and they are cross-compatible, I have both ^^

I haven't played World Tour enough to compare. However, I am going to a GH party in a couple of weekends so I will respond after that.

Great - I think I'll go for GH 3 then. Cheers

Since NXE, my time on Xbox live has reduced by 100%
So has my time on my 360.
I'd get GH:World Tour personall tbh. Pretty good, GH3 is a bit of a let down.
