UKeSA Code of Conduct
Code of Conduct
General Regulations
Players must abide by the UKeSA Code of Conduct.
Any and all Rules are subject to review and change without prior notice.
It is the responsibility of all the players and Managers of the UKeSA to fully know and understand both the game rule sets and general rules of the UKeSA.
The punishment for violating the UKeSA Code of Conduct or rules will be in accordance to the UKeSA Community Council. Measures to address disciplinary issues include: the deduction of bounty and prize money, points deduction from a competition, removal from competition and player suspensions.
The UKeSA reserve the right to remove any player or team at any time. If a team or player is the source of numerous complaints they will be asked to leave the UkeSA.
UKeSA Fair Play & Conduct
1. Play to Win
Winning is the object of playing every game. Never set out to lose. If you do not play to win, you are cheating your opponents, deceiving those who support the UKeSA, and also letting yourself down. Try your hardest against stronger opponents but never give up against weaker ones. Always play at full strength. Play to win.
2. Play Fair
A victory without honesty or fair play is a victory without value. Cheating brings no pleasure. Playing fairly and with integrity requires courage and character. Playing fair is rewarding and earns you respect. Remember: It's only a game. Games are pointless unless played fairly.
3. Observe the Rules of the Game
All games need rules to guide them. Without rules, there would be no game. Every game has a set of rules no matter how simple or complicated. Make an effort to learn both the UKeSA rules and the rules of your game. This will make you a better player. It is also important to understand the spirit of the rules. They are designed to make each game fun to play and fun to watch. By sticking to the rules, you will enjoy the game more.
4. Respect Opponents, Team-mates, Admins, Officials and Spectators
Fair Play means respecting everyone involved in your game and sport. Without opponents there can be no game. They have the same rights as you have, including the right to be respected. Every team in the UKeSA is a team in which all members are equal. Admins are there to maintain discipline and Fair Play. Always accept their decisions without arguing. Officials are also part of the game and must be respected accordingly. Spectators give the game atmosphere. They want to see the game played fairly, but must also behave fairly themselves.
5. Accept Defeat with Dignity
Nobody wins every time. You win some, you lose some. Learn to lose graciously. Don't make excuses for defeat as there will always be reasons to why you were defeated. Congratulate the winners with good grace. Don't blame anyone, even yourself. Just be determined to do better next time. A good loser earns more respect than a bad winner.
6. Keep a Healthy and Balanced Lifestyle
Gaming should be seen as social and healthy activity. Be a responsible gamer and maintain a balanced lifestyle. Avoid excessive play, eat right, exercise and play active sport. Help beat the stereotypes of gaming. You will feel better and play better. A balanced lifestyle could be the difference between victory and defeat. Remember: take a 5 to 15 minute break for every hour of play.
7. Promote the Interests of eSports
Building eSports into a respected and globally honoured pastime is possible. Think of UKeSA and eSports interests before your own. Think how your actions may affect the image of the sport. Talk about the sport in a positive manner and encourage other people to watch it or play it fairly. Help others to have as much fun from eSports as you do. Be an ambassador.
8. Reject Corruption, Drugs, Racism, Violence and Dangers to our Sport
Every game is vulnerable to negative outside interests. Do not be tempted into cheating or using drugs. Say No to Drugs. Do not be racist or sexist. Treat everyone equally, regardless of their skin colour, sexual orientation or origin. Show that eSports is truly a sport for everyone.
9. Denounce Those who Attempt to Discredit our Sport
Expose any one who cheats or plays dishonestly. In the name of eSports, work to have them removed. You will be respected for working to make eSports a fair and honest sport.
10. Honour Those who Defend eSports' Good Reputation
eSports have came to the level they are today through the hard work and dedication of others. They have worked hard to keep eSports honest and fair. These individuals should be recognized for being exceptional and honoured for their fine example. Promote eSports by promoting the people that make our sport special.
Responsible Gaming & Parental Guidance
Parents are encouraged to be involved in their children's UKeSA activities and gaming in general.
Parents are expected to be responsible and to use the guidelines set forth by the the BBFC and the PEGI age rating systems to determine if a child should be playing a particular title.
Managers must use their discretion when creating a roster for a game title. If a player seems too young to play a game, consult the player's parents.
UKeSA Eligibility
Players must be 15 years of age and over.
