General UKeSA Rules & Help

General Rules

General PC Rules

1. Often during a difficult match or conflict you may need to make a compromise with another team or with an admin if appropriate. To make your matches as smooth as possible everyone should try to be open to compromise as you may want another team to compromise with you one day.

2. We ask that all players treat each other and admins with respect and do not engage in personal attacks and baseless accusations.

3. Team managers are ultimately responsible for their entire team and all of their team members. They should ensure to the best of their abilities that their team know and follows all the rules of the UKeSA. Failure to do so may result in the team manager being punished or the team removed. The team manager should also set the example for their team.

4. Impersonating a UKeSA member of staff or Enemy Down admin is strictly forbidden. This includes inside or outside of UKeSA matches. People who are found to be doing this will be removed immediately.

5. Different games have different age restrictions. Due to the nature of the internet it is very difficult for the UKeSA to ascertain a player's true age. We ask team managers to act accordingly when they find out they have people playing for them who are under the recommended age for any particular game. All players must be over 15 years of age. Any player that is competing for a title that they are under the PEGI rating age of, must do so with both their parents and managers permission. This is under the team managers discretion.

6. Teams are expected to be on the server/lobby and ready to play with the minimum number of players at the scheduled or agreed upon time. Any team that fails to be present with the minimum amount of players and ready to play on a server 15 minutes after the match start time may forfeit the match. The other team may be awarded a default win.

7. Unique IDs are required; these ID`s vary from game to game. Please refer to the site help for more information. The IDs should be checked BEFORE the match starts, and you will be given up to 5 minutes for this task (if the match starts at 9.00, the first five minutes until 9.05 will be for checking ID's). If a full team does not show until after the 15 minute waiting period and the match commences before the other players arrive the ID's may be checked after the match.

8. All clans are required to keep an up to date members list, complete with the correct Unique IDs in place. It is the clan leaders' responsibility to ensure that they have enough registered players available for a match. Clans must only field players for matches that are listed on the members page.

General Console Rules

7.A "Lag Test" must be completed prior to starting the match. This is a test round that does not count that must use the standard game settings that will be used during the match. If the game lags during this test, a new host must be chosen. If both teams cannot find or agree upon an acceptable host, the match will be rescheduled. UKeSA teams are expected to provide adequate connections for their players.

8. Teams are expected to be on the server/lobby and ready to play with the minimum number of players at the scheduled or agreed upon time. Any team that fails to be present with the minimum amount of players and ready to play on a server 15 minutes after the match start time may forfeit the match. The other team may be awarded a default win.

League Matches

1. All matches will be scheduled. Teams can reschedule matches ONLY with UKeSA permission.

2. The home team will always have first map or side choice unless otherwise stated.

3. A standard scoring system will be as follows unless stated in a game rule set:

3 points for a win
1 point for a draw
0 points for a loss

4. Squads are expected to be on the server and ready to play with the minimum number of players at the scheduled or agreed upon match time. Any squad that fails to present the minimum amount of players on a server 15 minutes after the match start time may forfeit the match. Squads can field a team with a maximum of 2 players less than the other team. For example, if it is 6v6 you can field a team of 4; if it is 8v8 you can field a team of 6. If a clan fails to field the minimum amount of players, the other clan can claim a default (no-show) win before the game begins. If both teams allow the game to start they accept the number of players and cannot use this rule as grounds for a default win post match. You may not claim a default for a player dropping after the game starts and reducing the team to 3 players. Titles with 3 players per team (3v3) or less must be played with a full team without exception.

5. It is both teams responsibility to verify the eligibility of all players playing in the match prior to starting or continuing any match play. A team playing with an ineligible player will forfeit the match.

6. IDs should be checked BEFORE the match starts, and you will be given up to 5 minutes for this task (if the match starts at 9.00, the first five minutes until 9.05 will be for checkingID's ). If a full team does not show until after the 15 minute waiting period and the match commences before the other players arrive the ID's may be checked after the match. If a team is playing with players not verified then the opposition should inform them of this before the match starts. The clan should then substitute the offending player(s). Teams may be given up to 15 minutes to change players, after which the match should start. If the clan refuses, they will lose by default. In the event of a substitution, the ID may be verified after the match.

7. Players must show proof of winning each map/game in a match to be given the win for it. All proof must be clearly visible and show the in-game full scoreboard during the completion of that map/game. The proof must also clearly show both squads to be considered valid. The evidence requirements for each game can be found in the game rule sets of each title.

Cheating

1. Using any kind of cheat is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN. UKeSA operates a zero tolerance policy for cheating.

2. Abusing bugs and glitches (including map, game and engine bugs) is classed as cheating. Many glitches can be found in individual game rule sets.

3. Inappropriate decal "sprays" in-game are punishable at an admins discretion.

4. Admins reserve the right to discipline anybody found to be "scripting" unsportsmanlike conduct such as bunnyhop, no-recoil or burstfire. Please note that using buy scripts and other legal binds is allowed.

5. VAC must be enabled for all Half Life and Half Life 2 modifications. If there are issues with VAC availability, clans are within their rights to reschedule a match.

6. All PB enabled game servers must be streamed through Punkbusted, PBbans, or game-violations for all associated gametypes (please refer to your game specific rules for clarification). Alternatively please refer to PunksBusted Streaming Info as an aid in setting up Punkbusted streaming, our preferred partner.

7. Listening to a shoutcast of a game that you are physically playing in is consider cheating.

Cheating Accusations & Punishment

1. Accusations should not be made on the forums. Please contact an admin first.

2. If you suspect a player/squad of cheating during a UKeSA match, contact an admin in #edadmins on quakenet, or alternatively by submitting a conflict. Please provide a URL so that UKeSA may download any evidence that you have to support your claim. Users are encouraged to use their Enemy Down account to upload photo or video evidence. Please note: It is a Squad Leaders and Managers responsibility to ensure that their team remains cheat-free.

3. If accusing a team or squad of cheating, valid proof must be provided.

4. Conversations between users is not considered proof. This includes e-mails, instant messaging, and IRC discussions.

5. Conflicts will be made available to the opposing team manager for review so they can investigate their team privately. Any posts relating to the conflict will be removed immediately if they are posted without the approval of an admin.

6. Cheating accusations are reviewed by a team of admins. The admins will then present the evidence and case to the Community Council with their recommended action. If the Community Council can not make a decision, the case is passed on to the Ethics Commission for presentation to the Executive Committee. The Executive Committee will only be involved in extreme cases.

7. In the event where a cheating accusation is confirmed then the squad will be deducted league points or removed from the league. Squads caught cheating in Cups will be removed. Further punishment will be at the discretion of theUKeSA.

Prizes

The UKeSA plans to give away £35,000 in prize money in Season 1. More information on how this money will be divided will be provided soon.

Proof of Win

Every match needs evidence of who won. We encourage all gamers, PC and console, to record full demos of their matches with full scoring details. This is the best evidence possible, plus the footage can be used for highlights by the UKeSA.

If you have video evidence, you can upload it to any video file sharing service and send your admin the link.

If you have photo evidence, simply upload it to the Enemy Down forum. Remember to have the time and date on the photo and that it can not be open and resaved in a photo editing application as that strips some of the information we need the photo. Basically, it's the easiest way for us to tell if a photo has been doctored.
