SV_PURE 2 is now enforced in all match configs; custom content will automatically be blocked.
Any attempt to circumvent this will be treated as cheating and the offending player/team will be punished.
Any use of custom sounds, sprays, sprites, models (player, weapon, props and/or walls) including skin and texture changes is classed as cheating and will result in the player or even team being banned from Enemy Down.
Custom crosshairs are also blocked with sv_pure 2, any utility used to place an alternative crosshair into your game will result in a permanent ban.
sv_allow_wait_command 0 will block the majority of illegal in-game scripts.
Any script that gives a player an unfair advantage, such as affecting the player's weapon recoil is strictly forbidden.
"Quick-switching" is allowed only if using the "lastinv" cvar.
Any player caught exploiting the map to gain access to an intended inaccessible area such as a roof or the sky box will result in a default loss for the offending team.
Player's are reminded that grenading into a players spawn is forbidden. This includes entering the enemy spawn.
You may only bind +attack to EITHER MOUSE1 OR MOUSE2, not both. You may not bind +attack to your mouse scroll wheel. You may not bind +attack with any other command.
As specified in the Enemy Down Match Config the minimum and max rates are as specified:
• rate = 14000 - 30000
• cl_cmdrate = 50 - 100
• cl_updaterate = 50 - 100
Team's may not use any server addon to enforce rates. Teams may not adjust these settings.
To participate in the Day of Defeat Source ladder each player must be green ticked on the team's roster page.
To become green ticked the player must enter their Steam_ID. Please refer to the site help for more information on obtaining your STEAM_ID.
STEAM_IDs must be checked either before or shortly after the match.
A match conflict must be submitted if a team if found to be fielding or has fielded an illegiable player(s)
Please include at least a link to a 'status' screenshot when submitting a conflict of this nature.
Players without verified ID's (i.e. players with red crosses or not registered on the Enemy Down website) are never allowed to play in any Enemy Down match. This includes friendly matches.
This is regardless of any agreements between teams. Were this to happen, the match will be voided and both teamss may be punished at the admin's discretion.
All players can chat on the server before, during and after the match. Messages are expected to remain mature despite any situation that may arise. Punishments will be issued to any player or team that insult, abuse or attempt to incite the opposition.
Enemy Down respects that swearing is common place in the friendly banter between teams; please note that any racial or obscene language that is reported to us however will be acted upon with strictly enforced punishments.
Screenshots although useful cannot be used as solid evidence in this area. We request that when reporting an issue with a player or team that you provide a SourceTV or "in-eye" demo and server's "condump" for the admin to view.
When challenging an opponent please ensure that you fill out all of the fields correctly.
You must specify a valid server IP in the Server field, the password must be the one that will be used for the match.
TBA/TBC, Yours/Ours is not acceptable.
This helps to avoid any confusion for both teams. We suggest that if you receive a challenge that does not meet the necessary requirements that you reject it stating this rule.
Teams have 15 minutes after the allotted start time to begin the match.
If after 15 minutes the match has not started the waiting team can either continue to wait or submit a demo and screenshots as evidence for a default victory.
The team must be asked and given suitable time to respond as to if they wish to start the game with a man or two down for example. Enemy Down has and always will be a fun and friendly place to enjoy gaming. Please be patient with your opposition if they are experiencing any difficulty please offer to help if you can. (i.e. Player X was banned on your server due to Team killing in public play, please unban them for at least the duration of the match)
Matches are usually 20 minutes per half. At half time the team's will switch sides.
The challenged (for ladder matches) or away (for events) team is given the choice to pick their starting side. (Allies or Axis)
A default victory is awarded if a team cannot field four players. If one or both team's only have four or five players the match can still be played. If both teams are unable to field three players then the match will be marked as void.
There are no ping restrictions. You may not attempt to enforce this with a server addon or by typing "No 56k" in the challenge notes.
The ED Day of Defeat: Source Match Config must be used with no exception and must not be edited in anyway.
In-game spectators are completely forbidden.
Source TV must be present and recording on the match server. If this is not possible then all players must record "in-eye" demos.
As per the ED match config the tv_delay command must be kept at 90 seconds.
If spectator slots are made available on the Source TV server these must be offered on a 1: 1 basis to both teams.
All demo files must be kept for a MINIMUM of TWO WEEKS.
Corrupt or overwritten demo files will be considered missing and punishments may be sanctioned depending on the seriousness of the situation.
Both teams are expected to take at least one screenshot of both the status and meta list command in the console.
The console is brought up by using the tilde ` key. (above TAB).
To enable the config go to the main menu > options > keyboard > advanced > enable developer console (`)
Screenshots are expected to be taken before the match begins, with ALL participating players present in the server. These screenshots must be taken at the beginning of each half before the round begins.
All screenshots and demos must be kept for AT LEAST TWO WEEKS and may be requested by an Enemy Down admin during this time for random spot checks or match conflicts. team Leaders against whom you have played an official match also have the right to request these demos and screenshots and they should be handed over on request within 3 days of the first request.
We request that you save screenshots in the JPEG format. To do this please add these commands to your config.cfg file;
• bind "F5" "jpeg"
• jpeg_quality 100
Teams may not use any server addons that changes rates or interpolate settings.
• This includes addons such as zBlock.
• A team may only use these addons in a friendly match if it is CLEARLY displayed in capital letters in the challenge notes.
• No server may run these addons in any event, unless otherwise stated in the event notes.
In the event of the server crashing, the remaining time must be played out of that half, the scores from before and after the crash will be added together.
If the server crashes twice in the duration of a game the away team may have the match moved to their server.
Given the nature of the internet, rolling substitutions are allowed. The player being substituted must completely disconnect from the server however before the new player attempts to join.
If a team drops below 3 players for over 5 minutes during the match then a default victory will be awarded to the opposition provided a demo is produced to admins as evidence of this event occurring.
Players should not deliberately circumvent the enforced class limits.
However players are allowed to pick up the weapons of fallen team mates or enemies.
At the end of each round teams are given ten minutes to prepare for the next round.
A few minutes delay over this is acceptable but an extended delay is not.
Both team's have seven days to confirm the result on the Enemy Down website. After this period an Enemy Down admin will confirm the result. We ask that scores are confirmed as quickly as possible to allow the ladder to be updated.
The match result should be calculated by totalling the scores of each round together.
Each "full cap" counts as 50 points, for example;
• Team A - Rounds (3) Points (+34)
• Team B - Rounds (2) Points (+26)
• Total : Team A (184) - (126) Team B
The scoring system may be adapted in Cup competitions; this will always be stated and explained in the Cup Rules.
In the Ladder, this scoring is compulsory.
eam's have up to six days to file a conflict, this time period allows for ample time to build up any evidence for a case against a team or player.
When submitting a match conflict, please include as much information as possible.
This includes; demos, screenshots and log files along with any other relevant information you may have.
The 'enter a conflict' option as well as the 'void match' option can be found on the same page for confirm results, click on confirm result and then highlight the required area, and follow on screen prompts.
Any team that is inactive for more than one month will incur a point penalty.
teams that have more than one registered team in Enemy Down cannot play official ladder matches against one another. Teams can however play friendly matches.
If a player is found to be playing for two teams in the same ladder they will be punished at the admins discretion.
XAC is not enforced in friendly or ladder matches at the current time. If/When this situation changes we will announce this on the forum.
