Enemy Down

Counter-Strike: Source

Questions

What is ED’s stance on cheats and scripting?

1. Any cheats such as aimbots, wallhacks, ESP, anti-smoke, anti-flashbang etc are all strictly forbidden. Any individual(s) found using them will be removed from ED and permanently banned. If a clan leader is found to be cheating the clan will be removed from Enemydown.

2. All custom content (map textures, sounds, player & weapon models), with the exclusion of HUD's, are banned from ED as they can be used to your advantage.

3. Rates are now enforced and must not be set below the minimum settings as outlined below. People found to be breaking this rule must set them correctly upon request or face losing individual rounds or defaulting the match to the opposing side. People warned on multiple occasions will face playing bans. This will be at admin discretion and judged on a per person / match basis.

4. As a general rule, ED allows up to 500 grams of cheddar cheese consumption on match day. All other varieties are strictly forbidden

What are the minimum rates I can use?

• rate 15000
• cl_cmdrate 50
• cl_updaterate 50

What are the recommended rates I should use?

• rate 25000
• cl_cmdrate 100
• cl_updaterate 100

Can I use custom sprays in game?

Custom animated sprays are no longer an issue as sv_pure will be set to 2 in all Enemydown matches. If you can see sprays then you are playing on a server that has not executed the EDCSS config.

Does EnemyDown allow Duel-Clanning ?

1. You are NOT allowed to be in more than one clan playing CSS in ED. If your other clan does not play in ED, you have nothing to worry about. We take dual-clanning very seriously in ED and reserve the right to take action should we discover players taking part in ED matches for more than one clan. If your ID is found to be on more than one clan in ED it will be removed from the clan you most recently joined without notice.

2. Mercing / Dual Accounting within the same clan or between clans is strictly forbidden. This includes multiple steamID's per account, merc accounts and multiple user accounts within the same clan. Players found breaking this rule will be punished severely.

What is my Unique ID?

1. Unique IDs are required; this is known as the 'Steam ID'. Please refer to the site help for more information. The IDs should be checked BEFORE the match starts, and you will be given up to 5 minutes for this task (if the match starts at 9.00, the first five until 9.05 will be for checking ID's).

If a full team does not show until after the 15 minute waiting period and the match commences before the other players arrive the ID's may be checked after the match.

If a clan is playing with players not verified then the opposition should inform them of this before the match starts. The clan should then substitute the offending player(s). Clans may be given up to 15 minutes to change players, after which the match should start. If the clan refuses, they will lose by default.

2. Players without verified ID's (i.e. players with red crosses) are never allowed to play in official matches. This is regardless of any agreements between clans.

Red-crossed players MAY take part in PCWs but only if the opposing clan agrees. Players not registered on ED (i.e. not appearing on the clan's ED member's page) may NOT take part in ANY ED-related matches, even if the opposition agrees. Where this happens, the match will be voided and both clans may be punished at the admin's discretion.

3. Players that do not have user accounts on ED (i.e., players on the clan roster as 'grey-face' players) may NOT play in any ED matches, regardless of any agreements between clans.

4. You may add new players to your squad at any time, however, you cannot field a player that has been updated within 3 days of a match (player with a red cross). You can easily see who is allowed to play by viewing the clan members' page, allowed players show a tick, and newly updated players show a cross.

5. Players should not use anyone elses gameid in any enemydown matches. Players caught using someone elses gameid will face a playing ban.

6. Locked Rosters. In an event where locked rosters are present, all users are reminded to have signed up to their chosen clan and entered their correct STEAMID prior to the clan being signed up to an event as they will not be allowed to add additional players once they have signed up. Clans with less than the minimum number of players in the locked roster for that gametype will be removed from the event without question. No member can be added on to the locked roster once it has closed. Removing a member from the clan also removes them from the locked roster.

What game settings are there?

1. All games are played using Max Rounds (9, 12 or 15 only). The match involves both teams playing as T and CT for either 9, 12 or 15 rounds.

2. All matches should be played in full as the final result counts towards your rating (unless otherwise stated in Cup/league rules). If a clan leaves early (for example, winning 13-0 in an MR12 match) the remaining clan can claim the 11 rounds left to be played.

3. CS maps: Deliberately attacking or killing the hostages for any reason is forbidden. Standing on top of the hostages for any reason is not allowed. In addition, preventing the hostages exit from a room by blocking doorways with items (such as filing cabinets in cs_office) is strictly not allowed.

4. Intentionally blocking moveable doorways with objects is not acceptable. Doors are meant to open.

5. Clans can enter, in addition to the standard EDCSS rules, their own rules in the match comments such as :

— Bomb Defusal, MR15, 5v5, FF on, XAC required, 1 awp per team

*** Please note, adding anything that will change the values of the EDCSS config cvars is illegal (unless stated in rules. see CS:S 5.2), for example :

— Bomb Defusal, MR15, 5v5, FF on, XAC required, sv_cheats 1

— Bomb Defusal, MR15, 5v5, FF on, XAC required, sv_gravity 100

— Bomb Defusal, MR15, 5v5, FF on, XAC required, mp_startmoney 16000

Clans cannot enforce any rules stated on the clans overview page.

Also note that the only legal restriction you can add in match notes which changes the EDCSS config cvars is further rate restrictions other than the standard EDCSS rates ( See CS:S 1.3 )

6. Please take care when accepting a result. Mistakes do happen and we will not change any ladder result once it has been accepted.

What server settings are there?

1. The ED CSS server configs can be downloaded here (http://www.enemydown.eu/downloads/68) The ED CSS config MUST be loaded after the SourceTV demo is started. This makes sure Admins can see the version of Config loaded on the server as well as player details in the demo.

2. The only cvars that can be changed on the server are as follows and have rules regarding such changes.

- mp_freezetime: This can be changed to 1 or kept as config default only in the event of a 2v2 matchtype with Awp/Aim maps. This also must be agreed stated in match notes. THIS IS 2V2 ONLY

- mp_startmoney: This must not be changed unless in an overtime situation that was previously described in a Cup/League rule set. This is not a ladder option and is illegal to change in a ladder game

2. Clans must have the following cvars running on their servers Prior to matches: . sv_secure 1 . sv_consistency 1 The reason this is in the rules is because, although both are in all of the ED official cfg's, you need a map restart to make them happen. Put simply, if you exec any of the ED cfg's it will execute the commands above, but they will not work until you change the map. When you change the map your default cfg will execute, over-riding the ED cfg. The easiest way to ensure this is to make sure the two commands are in you server.cfg file on your server.

3. Clans must have the server cvar 'sv_pure' set to 2 in all ED matches. 'sv_pure 2' is within the edcssmr9, edcssmr12 & edcssmr15 configs. Once the ED config has been executed on a non pure server, zBlock will kick all players and restart the map in pure mode.

4. If your server is running the mani-mod plugin, you must be running this in warmode for all Enemy Down matches. If you are running any other plugin, please bear in mind that any settings which change those in the official ED cfg are illegal and should be changed, or the plugin disabled.

5. There are no ping restrictions for players.

6. SourceTV must be functional and recording for all ED games. This is non negotiable.

7. Unless Otherwise stated, the latest version of zblock must be installed and functional. zblock can be obtained from http://zblock.cs-resourced.net

8. Default CSS maps will be used at all times. Any clan found to be using an illegal map will be punished at the admins discretion. This includes :

. Door fixes on de_cpl_mill and de_nuke (zblock 4.1/4.2 fixes these)

We will add more as we see fit, please keep yourself updated.

What are the rules around Challenging?

1. Please try to challenge clans at least a week before the match. You may challenge clans at any time, but do not expect them to accept if they do not have enough notice. You can either make an 'official' (points scoring) challenge or a 'friendly' challenge. Alternatively clans are given the option to make an 'Open Challenge' whereby any clan within a set point region can accept your challenge.

2. Clans are permitted to play each other every 3 days, i.e. if clan A plays clan B on Monday, they will next be able to play each other on the Thursday.

3. If your clan does not have a server available when you make a challenge you may enter an alternative server, such as "yours". EnemyDown accepts no responsibility for the lack of server availability.

4. Please try to select the 'Map of the week' for your challenge, as it will help keep things more interesting. However, if you really do not want to play that map, you can select any other instead. 'Map of the week' matches receive extra points.

5. You are allowed to challenge up to two maps per match, and the challenger can decide whether to play one map or two. The challenger selects both maps.

6. In your challenge you should specify what scoring method is to be used. The available scoring methods can be found in rule 4.1.

7. Any match setting that is requested in a challenge & accepted by the other clan must be adhered to.

8. Additional rules or settings may only be listed in the challenge details. Rules or settings that are different to the default ones of your game may only be listed in the challenge details, any listed in any other location, including your clan details page do not apply. Rules and settings listed elsewhere are not binding and you may lose the match by default if you conflict regarding rules and settings listed anywhere other than the challenge details. When accepting a match you accept all the standard rules of EnemyDown plus any additional rules listed in the challenge details. Please refer to rule 4.6.

Are there any rules around Accepting And Rejecting?

1. You do not have to accept challenges if you do not want to. If you do not want to play a clan on a certain date, you are allowed to refuse. However, we recommend that you challenge your opponents for another date.

2. Clans can reject up to 6 challenges between official matches (see 'clan inactivity' for penalties). If you reject or cancel a match, you will get a 'red block' added. If you reschedule the match, the 'red block' will be removed. When an official match result is entered, your 'red blocks' are reset.

3. If you accept an open challenge after the match was officially supposed to start then the match will only be played if both clans agree to do so. If both teams do not agree to play or there is no contact between clans then the match will be voided.

Please note : the official start time of any match does not include the 15 minute wait period.

4. All times should be treated as UK (GMT/UTC/CET-1/CEST-1) times unless otherwise stated in the challenge.

What happens if my team goes inactive?

1. If a clan hasn't played an official match for 30 days, they will be made inactive and penalised. Clans lose 1 point per day.

2. If a clan also have 6 'red blocks' due to rejecting 6 challenges or more, they will also lose 3 points per day.

3. If a clan doesn't play for 60 days, they will remain inactive and will not be shown in the ladder rankings.

4. Inactive clan pages on ED will not be handed over to other people who do not have any original claim to it. Clans may reform and take over old accounts however no other group will be allowed to inherit an inactive clans' points.

No Shows / Cancellations?

1. You can cancel a match at any time, however, you cannot cancel a game on match day.

2. If you did not specify the server IP or password in the challenge, please make sure you send the match details to the other clan, either by email, instant messenger or on IRC. You can find these contact details on your opponents Clan information page.

3. Clans are expected to be on the server and ready to play with the minimum number of players at the scheduled or agreed upon time. Any clan that fails to be present with the minimum amount of players and ready to play on a server 15 minutes after the match start time may forfeit the match. The other clan may be awarded a default win.

Can we have spectators?

1. The ED rules state that you cannot have spectators on the server during a match (unless it is an admin that has asked or advised specifically that they will spectate the game for whatever reason).

2. Spectators may use SourceTV to view a match but tv_delay must be set to at least 120.

3. ED Admins reserve the right to spectate any official, friendly or event match and will advise your CL of this at least 24 hours in advance.

Must we record demos?

1. SourceTV must be used during all matches and the demo must be made available upon request. If for any reason SourceTV is not working on the server then the game is to be played on a server that has a functional SourceTV. POV's will not be accepted as a replacement

2. Must be set recording prior to executing the ED CSS configs

3. Teams have up to 7 days to either accept the result of a match, or submit a match conflict. If the result has not been accepted after this 7 day period then an admin will confirm the result on your behalf. In the case of overdue fixtures relating to Events, this period may be reduced and will be reflected in the specific Event rules.

4. Teams must make demo's available for a minimum of 7 days after a match has been played.

How do we pick a side?

1. The knife fight is always used to decide which team picks sides. It is not optional.

If there are players still alive at the end of the round, the team with the most players alive wins. If there an even number of players left alive on each team, you restart and play knives again.

Smoke grenades and Flashbangs are not allowed in the knife round. If you fire a pistol and it hits a member of the opposition you lose the knife round by default.

Can I play another squad from my clan?

1. Clans that have more than one registered team in ED cannot play official ladder matches against one another if they are in the same ladder. However, if they compete in the same League Division or Cup then games can proceed with an admin present to adjudicate. 1st and 2nd Teams can play friendlies.

Can I Bunnyhop?

1. Bunnyhopping is not permitted during ED matches. Any team caught bunnyhopping will lose that round. Repeated bunnyhopping during a match may result in a default loss against that team, this is at the admins discretion.

Bunnyhopping is defined as gaining speed by repeated strafe jumping.

Can you Pause the game?

1. For pausing the server we would ask clans to exercise a little common sense please - pausing is for when people have either internet problems or pc problems and need to reboot - it is NOT for when a member needs to go for a "break" - pausing is not for this reason.

Officially the rule is that a clan has 7 minutes IN TOTAL to pause. This could be one long pause or many smaller pauses. After this the opposition clan has the right to insist that play goes on, however, if you do not have a game after, or are not in a huge hurry, we would ask you to wait if players seem to have genuine problems.

If you do have games after, or are in a hurry for some other reason, you are within your rights to play on after the collective 7 minutes are up.

The game can ONLY be paused at the end of the round, or during the 'freezetime' of the next round.
Are there any rules about Planting/Defusing The Bomb?

1. The bomb may only be planted in locations that are accessible by regular jumping. Using team-mates to boost and plant the bomb in an inaccessible location is illegal. Planting the bomb in any area that is classified as a map bug is also illegal.

The fountain on bombsite A on de_inferno is considered a map bug and planting in the fountain is illegal.

2. The Terrorist team are not permitted to deliberately obstruct access to the bomb in an effort to prevent CT's from defusing. For example, covering the bomb with chairs/barrels.

3. CT's may not attempt to defuse the bomb if it is out of sight. Defusing/fake defusing the bomb through a solid object is illegal. Please note that being able to see ONLY the red flashing glow is still illegal. You must be able to see any part of the bomb itself.

4. Breaching any Bomb Plant/Defuse rules will result in the automatic loss of 2 rounds with more at the admins discretion of the state of play at the time of the defuse, lost rounds will be awarded to the opposing team. Repeatedly breaching this may result in the automatic loss of the match.

What cvars are illegal?

1. DirectX level, or 'dxlevel' must be at least version 8.0.

Other cvars will be added as and when we see fit, it is your responsibility to ensure that you are aware of the rules at all times. Ignorance is no excuse! :)

2. See Server settings section 7

What Rules are there for the Entry Ladder?

1. Clans who are accepted into EDCSS will be required to play a minimum of 5 OFFICIAL matches in the Entry ladder before being promoted to the EDCSS Open ladder. Clans must play all outstanding matches in the entry  ladder before being eligible for promotion.

Can I have members in my squad with no ID?

1. If any team is found to have an excessive number of red crossed players with ID's such as :

'honourary Member'

'suche 5V4 LOW'

'hippY got kicked from fm'

We will consider these 'cheerleaders' and they will be subject to removal at any time. You as Clan Leader are reminded to keep your roster clean and free from such 'cheerleaders'. Refusal of this request will take form of a punishment which will be at the admin's sole discretion.

Anti-cheat?

1. XAC is mandatory for ALL official ladder matches. Every player playing in the match MUST use XAC. There is no excuse not to. Multiple offenders who do not use it will be banned from ED.

2. Users of Enemydown MUST login to XAC using their Enemydown username and password. This allows for a users XAC profile to be directly linked on Enemydown. If any user is found to be using a XAC account which is not linked to their Enemydown account they will be punished at the admins discretion and most likely will cause their games to be defaulted if conflicted.

3. XAC is NOT mandatory for ED PCW's

Information on XAC can be found at http://www.xraygaming.com/

Can I use Boosting in game?

1. Some boosts are legal, some are not. Please refer to this list for clarification :
